Il 13 febbraio 2025, l’Aria Resort & Casino di Las Vegas ha ospitato la 28ª edizione dei DICE Awards, un evento annuale organizzato dall’Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) per celebrare le eccellenze nel settore dei videogiochi e, insieme ai The Game Awards, uno dei più attesi dell’anno. La cerimonia, presentata da Greg Miller di Kinda Funny Games e Stella Chung di IGN, ha visto trionfare proprio lui, Astro Bot, come Gioco dell’Anno, consolidando la sua posizione di rilievo nell’industria videoludica. Chi apre la fila dei vincitori?
Astro Bot (qui la nostra recensione!) ha dominato la serata aggiudicandosi un totale di cinque premi. Oltre al prestigioso titolo di Gioco dell’Anno, il gioco ha ricevuto riconoscimenti per l’Eccellenza nell’Animazione, l’Eccellenza Tecnica, il Design di Gioco e il Gioco per Famiglie dell’Anno. Questo successo ha contribuito in modo significativo al trionfo di Sony Interactive Entertainment, che ha portato a casa nove premi complessivi, grazie anche ai successi di Helldivers 2. Quest’ultimo si è distinto vincendo quattro premi, tra cui Gioco d’Azione dell’Anno, Eccellenza nella Composizione Musicale Originale, Eccellenza nel Design Audio e Gioco Online dell’Anno.
La serata ha anche celebrato figure illustri dell’industria: Ted Price, presidente e fondatore di Insomniac Games, è stato inserito nella Hall of Fame dell’AIAS per il suo contributo a franchise iconici come Spyro the Dragon e Ratchet & Clank. Don James, ex vicepresidente esecutivo di Nintendo of America, ha ricevuto il premio alla carriera per il suo ruolo fondamentale nella creazione dell’ESRB e dell’Interactive Digital Software Association, ora conosciuta come Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
